Hotel 1829 in St Thomas?

Has anyone stayed at Hotel 1829, just looking for a one-night stop over.

Thanks,

Nlou

I would suggest the Inn at Blackbeard's Castle for a one night stopover in St. Thomas. It is in Charlotee Amalie, but on a hill, so a bit "above the fray". The pool there is nice, and the restaurant is good.

HI THERE! I STAYED AT THE HOTEL 1829 IN 1979 AND THEN WENT BACK TO VISIT WHILE CRUISING A FEW YEARS AGO. WE LOVED IT!IT WAS VERY QUAINT, THE RESTAURANT WAS GREAT AND YOU CAN'T BEAT THE VIEW. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Hotel 1829's restaurant is closed although there was a rumor it was going to reopen during season only. There are several good ones on Gov't Hill, Herve and Marisol. Same family owns 1829 and Inn @ Blackbeard's now.

Thanks for your responses. I had started with Blackbeard's Castle and their Fodor's number was for a different local business who said it was nice but pricey. Said 1829 was a bit of a better value--but I really have no clue. So thanks for the feedback. Sounds like we can walk to plenty of places in the area.

Thanks again,

Nlou

Hi nlou -

We overnighted at Hotel 1829 this past December on our way to the BVI.

If you want a place that feels like it is 1829 go here. Incredibly quaint. Comfortable. Nice little pool. Great bar. The restaurant wasn't open so we ate at Blackbeard's...excellent. Glad we stayed at 1829 though.

Spring for a Harborview Suite. Magnificent view.

Dave

We are staying at the Hotel in June. While in St. Thomas, we will have a rental car. Do they have parking available. If not, what do you all recommend?
