Horizons & cottages
Has anyone stayed at Horizons and cottages and if so please advise your thoughs on this property.

My parents stay here whenever they go to Bermuda... as a family we stayed at the princess last year, and according to my parents, it didn't compare - fair warning, it is a quiet, laid-back elegant atmosphere...we went to the pricess as a family b/c we thought there would be more "action".

I visited Bermuda this June, stayed at the Fairmont Southhampton Princess for the 3rd time and was very disappointed, so...we went looking for a new place. Decided on the Sonesta for our September trip with our toddler and Horizons by ourselves next May. The manager was nice enough to give us a tour even though we just walked in. We also got to speak with several repeat guests, of course they loved it or they wouldn't be coming back year after year. Like Jill said, it is very elegant, charming and peaceful. I have the web address: www.bermudasbest.com

A direct web site is: www.horizonscottages.com. While the site omits it, the email address is [email protected]. My husband and I will try HC this year -- just want to try something new, after successful stays at the Reefs. The good kitchen (with dine around at Waterloo House and Newstead) appeals, as well as the quieter, small-hotel style. So much depends on how much activity you want on-site, your priorities, etc. Note that the beach is a sort-of-short walk away.

'Just found out that Horizons & Cottages has dine-around arrangements with Waterloo House and the Coral Beach Club, no longer with Newstead. Also, FYI: HC and WH are members of the Relais & Chateaux assoication, if that helps to set the tone.
