Honeymooning at Windjammer Landing
 

My fiance any I are planning to spend our honeymoon this November at Windjammer Landing Resort in St. Lucia. Anyone been there recently? We booked an all-inclusive package for a one bedroom villa w/ plunge pool. Is the all-inclusive package worth it? How are the accomodations? Any other thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You will have an excllent time -St Lucia is a beautiful island and amazing beaches!! The windjammer is a great resort...ALl inclusive is DEFINITLY the way to go! --no worries with $$$$$, and you can drink until you are blue in the face!!! You will love it -sit back and enjoy the ride!!!

Ed, We stayed at the Windjammer Landing for our honeymoon 6 years ago. It was a really nice place - the rooms are very open to the outdoors. We also did the all-inclusive package and it is worth it. The cabs are expensive and the are not too many restaurants that close by without either taking a cab or renting a car. The resort is set up so there can be some climbing to and from your room. They do have golf carts and the driver will take down/up to your room and to the main dining/pool/beach. Need more info let me know.

Ed: How was your stay? How is the beach and the clarity of the water. Any comments/suggestions, appreciated. Planning on a vacation with my family in August.

Ed:<BR><BR>I just returned a few weeks ago from my third stay at the Windjammer. We bought a time share after the 1st year. It's a truely beautiful place. A villa would be great for a honeymoon. Many of them are very private and spacious.<BR><BR>I do not think the all-inclusive package is worth it unless you are heavy drinkers. They have a SPC (special meal plan) for $260/wk which consists of 6 breakfasts, 1 lunch or brunch, and 3 dinners. The restaurants at the Windjammer are great, but once or twice is enough. Take a pass on the buffets. They happen 2 times during the week. <BR><BR>We ate at some good restaurants within 5 miles of the hotel. Taxi's are very expensive ($12 one way to Rodney Bay), but you would probably be able to split it with someone else going from the hotel. Speak to customer relations. <BR><BR>I just reviewed what's included in the all-inclusive package and the only thing that makes it different from the European Plan are the meals and drinks. All those other things (Manager's Cocktail Party, entertainment, all sports, arrival provisions, etc.) are all included anyway.<BR><BR>By the way, I might be partial, but you can't go wrong if you can get the Villa we stay in #213. It was just built a year ago, and is high up on the hill with a beautiful view and gorgeous sunsets. The shuttle system they have is great. We never had to climb and the rest of the resort is self contained. I know this is long, but a honeymoon is a very special trip and I wanted to make sure you got good tips.
