Honeymoon Suggestions-Help!

Getting married December 1st, 2001. My fiance and I are trying to decide on our honeymoon (between Mexico and Barbados)..any recommendations or thoughts would be helpful. We are looking for a luxury hotel or resort with excellent beach and great service. We want to be lazy the entire time and just swim and sun but would like the option to explore if we get motivated. Any thoughts on where to stay?

My Wife and I went to Cancun for our honeymoon (granted 6 years ago) and had allot of fun.. Couple of questions though... How much do you want to spend, do you want a good nightlife?, do you want to do tours and get out, etc...... I can tell you on our honeymoon we did allot of excursions and was always on the go... If I had to do it over again, I would choose Grand Cayman in a second...

Best Wishes on you upcoming marriage
Thanks for your input. In terms of $$ we are looking to spend between $2000 and $3000 on the accommodations (not including food and drink.) While I can say we may be into getting out and about--we usually end up entertaining ourselves and often fail to execute our plans. Do you think the weather in Grand Caymen would be good in December? Any risk of hurricane damage during the Aug-Oct timeframes? Thanks!

Try the Royal Hideaway in the Maya Riviera of Cancun. Wonderful beach, great service. Everyone who has been there loves it!

There are some beautiful places in Mexico ie. Puerto Vallarta, Playa del Carmen, but avoid Cancun unless you want to feel like you haven't left the US. The Royal Hideaway Spa that Dixie mentioned is in Playa del Carmen and is beautiful. I would also suggest the Sierra Nuevo in Puerto Vallarta.
