Honeymoon in February - Hottest Weather in Caribbean?
My fiance and I are getting married in February 2012 and don't know where to go on our honeymoon. We want to go somewhere that's hot enough to enjoy the beautiful beach and pool, without feeling chilly. What island/s in the Caribbean, Hawaii, South America, wherever have the hottest weather in mid-February? If you were going on a honeymoon in February and wanted to go some place warm/hot where would you go?

That time is summer in South America. In Hawaii, it is the wet season, and the water temperatures are only middle 70s, so best to avoid. In the Caribbean, Jamaica is fine, and anywhere from Puerto Rico/Virgin Islands and further south in the eastern Caribbean. Even slightly warmer water (80-82) from Martinique on south. For instance, in Barbados, winter is only 3-4 degrees cooler than summer.

My husband and I spent a week on St. Thomas last February. The weather was amazing! We also took several day trips to the BVIs and St. John. All of the islands were simply breathtaking and the weather was perfect.

We went to Hawaii in a February and it was the wrong choice. We expected warm and tropical and it was cold and rainey. We went to Walmart and bought jeans, long sleeves shirts and sweaters. We stayed at the Kaanapali Beach hotel and the ocean was red flagged unswimable. The pool was cold.
February is considered high season, so expect to pay inflated rates for air and hotel. Also be weary of destinations that would attract families and college students for winter break. Look at more upscale hotels that are couple oriented even though they may be more expensive.
Are you interested in AI resorts? You find adults only much easier.
Look at St. Lucia, Barbados, Aruba, Antigua, Grenada, St. John, USVI.

In the Caribbean,we have 2 seasons.
Dry Season from 1st December-May 31st.
Wet/ Hurricane Season- 1st June- 30th November.
However, keep in mind that heavy rain, or extreme heat can occur out of season.
There is no set time to have good weather here any where in the world realistically speaking.
This year, we had record breaking rain for the month of April, and last year, a terrible drought around the first quarter of the year. But rest assured, you wont experience snow, hail, tornadoes, and the like.[for now!]
Tropical weather is the best! =)
Hope you get a good place and no matter what the weather, enjoy your wedding and new life together.
PS, rainy weather means you guys get to snuggle more ^_^

I'm not sure what you want...on my honeymoon (40 Years ago) all I needed was a room...we ordered in. We are spending 10 days in St Maarten this February. Great beaches and good food. We're staying at the Princess Heights Condominium Hotel. One bedroom suite overlooking Dawn beach. It's not a resort, nor a big hotel more like staying at an apartment. Cost is reasonable. We stayed at Dawn Beach twice before, once before the big storm...that place no longer exists Westin built a hotel there. The other time we stayed at the Princess before the Westin was built. We loved it. Big bedroom, dining room, sitting area and a balcony overlooking Dawn Beach. Google it. It is bigger than it sounds. I don"t know what you like but this is it for us. There is some crime read the thread. Best weather is supposed to be February according to Google. Last year we did a 7 day cruise out of Honolulu in February ...great cruise mediocre boat. Saw four islands in 7 days. Hawaii, Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. The islands were spectacular, the food and entertainment were average. The crew were putting in their time. We also spent a couple of weeks on Oahu it was super (rained every day for an hour). Beaches, surfing, Pearl Harbor. Expensive!!!
