Honeymoon in August
We are hoping to get to somewhere in the Carribean in August for our honeymoon - We are thinking Nevis any suggestions are welcomed - Also, are we crazy to go during hurricane season -
|
August is a "quite time" in the Caribbean and no matter where you go you'll find some of the resorts, restaurants and other tourist oriented activities either closed or operating at reduced staff levels or reduced hours. That holds true for Nevis as well as most Caribbean islands.
The weather on the other hand can be quite good. Huricanes, while not unheard of during that time of the year are somewhat rare. You can check the frequency rate for major storms for any given month for any given island by going to the "Climatology" section at www.stormcarib.com. For instance since 1851 there have been only about 14 hurricanes that have tracked near Nevis during the month of November. |
thanks thats helpful. I'm a little worried that Nevis might be too quiet for us. We are looking to stay at a beautiful resort but would like some options for restaurants. We are not interested in an all inclusive. Some activity at night weither that would be a hotel bar or music -

Go to the following websites to learn EVERYTHING you could ever possibly want to know about what to do, what to see and where to stay on Nevis:
www.nevis1.com www.nevisforum.com After reading everything on those two website you'll know more than most tourists who have visited the island. There's a wealth of information to be had on those sites. |
thanks I will definitely check it out. Also, is the weather humid like some islands.

For detailed weather statistics for Nevis as well as any island in the Caribbean go to the "History and Almanac" section at: www.wunderground.com You can research what the actual temperatures and climate conditions were for every day for the last 10 years.
You'll find "simple" weather charts for Nevis and othe islands at: www.weatherbase.com |
Thanks - My fiancess is concern that Nevis may not have enough to do - He really enjoyed ARuba but we have both been before.
