honeymoon help please

I'm getting married in June and we'd like to spend our honeymoon in Bermuda. We have never visited the island before. I would love some advice re: hotels. Horizons&Cottages? The Reef?
Our priorities are service, very comfortable rooms and good food. Privacy is a consideration (suites.) Access to south shore beaches and golf are a plus.Has anyone ever stayed at the Mid Ocean Club? What are the accomodations like?

Horizons&Cottages is a garden property with putting greens and is in close proximity to the South Shore beaches, as a guest you can use the Coral Beach. The Reef's just finished a major upgrade and has been voted by Travel & Lesiure as the best small hotel in the region, it's right on the beach with two great restaurants in house.
Mid Ocean is a private club so you have to be a member. If you want info on other Bermuda properties go to www.bermudatourism.com .

thank you for the quick reply!
Info on The Reef is very helpful. we were invited to stay @ mid ocean- I think perhaps it would be inappropriate for a honeymoon-I was hoping to do some discreet research. What about Cambridge ?

Cambridge is also excellent, I would put it on par with The Reef's, they have some suites that are out of this world!

Mid ocean is a great golf course-but i would not recommend it for a honeymoon.

We stayed at the Reefs for our 15th anniversary and loved it.

We went to Cambridge Beach on the Dine Around and were not impressed. Even though it is a great place, secluded and luxurious, it was a bit more formal than our taste. We golfed with a British couplel who had major problems with their room and service at Cambridge. I was a travel agent at the time(laid off sept 20) and reported the problems to hotel rep.

When you stay at any of the great Bermuda hotels, tee times are available all over Bermuda. Although guests may only play at Mid Ocean on certain days, there is usually not a problem getting a tee time.
