Good honeymoon spot for what you're looking for, I'd have to say start with the USVI. If I were planning my honeymoon then/there I'd say go to the Ritz Carlton if you can; this is their low season and rates should be better. Altho we love Frenchman's Reef, if it were for the honeymoon I'd stay at the Ritz Carlton (hardly any kids at this property). You have the option of their beach, other beaches around St. Thomas, or being close by to the ferry in Red Hook going for 1 or 2 day trips to St. John/the British VI. The ride to Charlotte Amalie (main town with the nightlife) is about 30 minutes from the Ritz. Great prices on duty free jewelry, go directly to Raadets Gaade (a street) where the small shops offer better deals and don't mind bargaining with great jewelry direct from Italy (better quality and unique pieces than even NYC / Fortunoff's. The Ritz offers Romance / Honeymoon Packages (as well as other properties) but of course, this is a 5 star property. July should be OK, because the full rainy season is August to November. I'm 25 miles west of you guys, and I know what you mean about 'can't sit still.'

You might consider Aruba if you're into gambling; my friend/her hubby who are originally from the Bronx loved the Marriott down there, which has an onsite casino. There's duty free shopping down there, also. This is a longer plane ride, tho.

All the best with your wedding; we're still on our honeymoon, 24 years next week!
