There are more top restaurants than you can feasibly shake a stick at.
My favourites are La Mandala and the Carl Gustav in Gustavia.
Beaches? St Jean and the Nikki Beach bar are chic, Saline and Gouverneur beaches tend to be the most raved about, however I adore Shell beach, again in Gustavia. It has a great beach bar with one of the most entertaing barmen in the world (ask him to put a "Les Escrocs" CD on, and he will sing and dance you through the whole disc), it is sheltered.
For bars you have to try the Select.

Oh my FAVORITE island!! Probably why we have been going year after year!!
The food is incredible! Here are a few suggestions:
Maya's
Eddie's
Le Ti (also fun at night, turns into a club with dancing on the table)
On the Rocks (Eden Rock hotel)
Wall House (may be closed in July)
Le Piment for lunch
Le Rivage for lunch
Andy's Hideaway
Maya's to go for lunch
Pa Cri
Le Gaiac
La Bouchon for lunch
La Plague for lunch (soo cool)
(There are soooo many amazing restaurants, so you won't go wrong at anyone!!)
St. Jean Beach (You will see the planes land over you---La Plague is here too)
Saline Beach
Govenour Beach
Grand Cul Du Sac if you want to go windsurfing)
clubs/bars
Nikki Beach
Le Ti
Casa Nikki
Le Marine
Have a wonderful vacation...once you go there once, you will NEVER want to go to another island! Have fun!! If you have any other questions, post and I will reply back!

We had wonderful meals at Isle de France, Francois Plantation and at Eden Rock and, lord knows, just about every restaurant we dined at on the island. As others have said, it's hard to have a bad meal on St. Barth's. Simply said, there are more great restaurants on St. Barth's then there are in all the rest of the Caribbean.

You didn't mention your length of stay, ages likes/dislikes, but here are some of my suggestions. All of the beaches are very pretty and different from one another. Make a plan to see all of them during your stay. Perhaps one beach in the am, have lunch, then another for the afternoon. Definitely rent a car/jeep. It is a pretty small island, so on your first morning drive around the island. You can stop at the beaches along the way, even some of the hotels. Our favorite beach was Governour, especially the view as you drive down to the beach.
Some cool bars Le Ti St Barth, Nikki Beach, bar @ Le Serano Hotel, Do Brazil.
I have to admit the pizza at Andy's is terrific. Everyone talks about it, and you should definitely try it. If you try it for lunch, check the website for hours. They close by around 2pm, so go early. I would also recommend Le Plage @ Tom Beach hotel.
Best wishes, congratulations and enjoy!

Great choice! We just returned from our 10 day honeymoon there. Leaving the northeast early in a.m. and waiting 3 hours for a valve to be fixed on the plane, putting up with the crowds at San Juan airport,we were not deterred as we boarded the small plane to St.Barts. Strongly suggested to fly instead of the ferry - shop around for the best price. This is the low season and the benefits abound. We made it a point to get to the beach by 10 a.m. - after croissants of course. Saline and Gouverneur were our favorites - bring plenty of lotion and water(put a bottle in the freezer the night before). For the evenings we would go for a cocktail at the high end hotels and enjoy the ambiance - speaking French helps. On Wednesday aim for Carl Gustaf for the sunset - and stay for Karaoke - in French or English. Weather was great but as we were dining at Nikki's Beach - a rain storm came - no problem - we moved under the roof and enjoyed the company of another couple. Conversing with other couples was delightful and most were surprised we were celebrating our honeymoon(First!) The food is wonderful - Maya'a, La Goulette (down the beach from our hotel),le Gaiac - but remember it is an Expensive island. Shopping for tee shirts + - go to a shop around the corner from Le Select. A car is a must and some companies will quote prices in Euros and give the equivalent in dollars. I am a recently retired teacher (yes - first honeymoon) -
and for both of us St.Barts was a great choice. Next "low season" we might combine St.B. with Anguilla. Congratulations to you and bon voyage.
