Honeymoon haven?

We can't decide where to stay in St. Bart's. The hotel-isle-de-france looks great, but so does le toiny, eden rock and guanahani. Any suggestions?

Tina,
All four are very nice. It just depends were you want to be - beach, hillside, "city"...Eden Rock is right on the beach, but is in "busy" St. Jean. Guanahani is not on the beach and is located in the largest town. I'd choose le toiny for it's location in the quiet grand cul de sac. We stayed there for our honeymoon and cried as we boarded the plane to come home. You really can't go wrong anywhere in St. Barth, enjoy!

Tina, I've been researching St. Barts also. Couldn't decide between Le Toiny, Guanahani or Isle-de-France. We are beach people and prefer to be on the beach or very close. While the Guanahani and Isle-de-France are located on the beach, Le Toiny offered us a new experience, a villa on the hillside with a private pool. So we chose Le Toiny and will be going next year. Also, part of the fun in St. Barts is visiting the different beaches. If we stayed at a hotel on the beach I think we would get lazy and not visit any other beaches. So depending on what you are looking for should help you decide. Also, visit www.sbhonline.com. It's a forum strictly for St. Barts. The people there are quite knowledgeable about the island and will be very helpful. Good luck!

Hi,

We definitely do not want to be in the city or on a "busy" beach. We prefer to be on a beautiful, quiet beach. I know what you mean about crying while boarding to leave, because that happend to me when leaving Anguilla! Thank you so much for the advice!

We will be in Barts on Valentine's Day and eat dinner at Toiny which is the most romantic and best restaurant in my opinion.

Most people would probably vote Le Toiny as the best place on the island, despite the fact that it is not on a beach. Isle de France is right up there with Le Toiny in quality, and is on a pretty, quiet beach. Guanahani also has it's own beach on Grand Cul de Sac (an ocean lagoon) and in addition it adjoins Anse Marechal. a small but nice surfy ocean beach. It's a very nice place and has more facilities and activities, but has less privacy and is just not in the same league as Toiny or Isle de France as a honeymoon haven. Eden Rock is also a favorite of many people, has a great location right on St. Jean beach. If you want the best of the best, pick Le Toiny. If it absolutely has to have a beach, pick Isle de France.

We just got back from Eden Rock(THE ROCK)and it was absoultyl beautiful. THE staff was very accommodating. We looked into the other hotels you mentioned but they seemed to be off the beaten path so to speak."The Rock" is center of what seems to be everything on ST. Barts eventhough rverything is an ease to get to. You can't go wrong anywhere you stay. Le toiny has great dinner evening try their chocclate dessert, le ti'ST. Barts is very hip, geat people scene etc. You can't go wrong there!!!!!
