Honeymoon at Atlantis?
Me and my fiance are looking to go to Atlantis Resort for our honeymoon in June. I've heard its like Disneyland with too many people and kids, plus everything is extremely expensive. So I want to know if it is worth it to go there, or if there is another place anyone could recommend? Also we have a standard room at the Coral Towers with a water view. Are the rooms really nice or just okay? Also alot of people have posted that you have to get up early to save a lounge chair for the pool, will it be like that in June? Does it get really crowded around that time? I've checked out the rooms online but any advice, opinions, or tips would be sooo much appreciated! Thanks

think about going to the sister hotel of the Atlantis - think it's called the Ocean Club nearby. It's elegant, beautiful and more romantic.

The Atlantis is incredible. Yes, it is huge, but you can do as much or as little as you want. It is a sight to behold. We have been there three times and have never had a problem with chairs. However, we sit on the beach, not around the pools. There is so much to see and do, but it is NOT like Disneyland. If you want to do the slides and river ride, then go do them. If not, you can just sit in a hammock and do nothing but relax. We just love it there and will continue to stay there.

One word........ GO!!!!!!! Don't let anyone talk you out of it...It may be "crowded" but it's SO huge that you don't really notice it. Expensive?? well......I guess its all relative. No more than any other four star resort.
Lots to do and see...nice beach..several pool areas,,lazy river run,,One of the coolest speed slides..takes you thru a glass tube on bottom of shark tank...however, your going so darn fast you don't really have time to see much...but can later walk thru another tube to catch the rays and sharks. If you like to gamble, has a big casino. Trendy shops..
As for the coral tower...we stayed in it also..and would have to say the room was just OK...the coral is one of the original buildings..before it became "Atlantis". They show a little wear, however the public areas are very nice.
I had read alot about the "service"
before we went, and was a little concerned,,but had no trouble at all..
Have pics on disk of some of the inside areas if your interested,,just e mail and I'll send them..
I was one who didn't have a very positive report for this resort. We did go during Christmas/New Year's week and expected crowds. The place is huge but I would highly recommend the Ocean Club for a Honeymoon. It is much quieter and romantic. You can also use all of the "attractions" at Atlantis. There is a short free shuttle between the properties.

We also just got back from The Royal Hideaway in Playa del Carmen, Mexico - a bit south of Cancun. I loved that and haven't seen a prettier beach in quite some time. There were a few honeymooner's there during the week as well as a wedding.

If you do Paradise Island do look into a meal plan - the prices really are high.

Liz

I would take the others' advice and check out The Ocean Club. Atlantis is impressive and fabulous and offers lots to see, but on my honeymoon, I would want something a little more intimate and a little less busy. The food is extremely overpriced and not so great, which is not necessarily true for other resorts, since I've been to many. It's a great place to go to when you have children, since they can enjoy the all the different slides and pools. As an adult, these are fun for a day or two. I wouldn't say stay away, but if you can stay somewhere else and still enjoy the amenities of Atlantis, I would look into that and save the trip to Atlantis for when you have kids. Oh, the rooms are only OK.
