Holiday-value condo

I hate to use the word "budget" so I'm substituting "value" instead! I am starting to plan our next Christmas trip. With school age kids, it's the only time we can all be together. With that said, prices understandable spike at Christmas. I seem to remember hearing a few years back about some new construction of a condo/resort that was built just off the beach. I seem to remember it was a short walk to the beach on Grace Bay. Does this sound familiar? I'm looking for suggestions for a family of 5. We don't need to be beachfront, but would like a condo or apartment so we can spread out a bit and cook in when we are happily too tired and sun-burnt to move!

Honestly, if you give us a dollar figure instead of some nebulous word like "value" it would make it easier for people to make meaningful suggestions and recommendations, especially when you are inquiring about Christmas Week which is traditionally the most expensive time on any tropical island let alone like places on Grace Bay which are high priced any time of year.

For instance if a condo that normally rents for $10,000/week is suddenly available for $8,000/week most people would consider that a good "value" BUT it could be way out of YOUR PRICE RANGE. So what exactly does "value" mean in terms of your actual "budget". Sorry, I know you don't want to use that word but but there's nothing wrong with having a budget, be it $1000 or $10,000.

For starters, try going to the T&C forum on Tripadvisor.com - use the "Vacation Rentals" link on the left side of the page. You'll find 311 listings for T&C rental units in all price ranges, 243 of them on Provo. Perhaps some of them will meet YOUR definition of "value".

Now, we stayed at Ocean Club West over Christmas a few years back and for us it gave us good "value". It wasn't the most expensive condo on grace Bay neither was it the least expensive. You might want to check it out. It's very popular with families.

Good luck finding your place in the sun.

Do you mean Villa Delamr? It is behind Grace Bay Club, 2 minute walk to beach with chairs, water and towels, they have beautiful new condos.

A budget does help as roam says.
I've been through every property imaginable so can help. But also need for how many nights as some properties have minimum nights during Christmas break. I know of many properties that sit back a block or 2 that will save you money, but budget will help me narrow it down for you.

PS. Here now, weather has been scrumptious!

Just a word of advice.
Christmas holiday time is premium rates at most Caribbean resorts. You will be paying more for this time of year.
Also, resorts are imposing a resort fee on top of the rates that VRBO units are sold at. This goes to the resort management company for the added costs of guests on property that they carry and do not receive any percentage when a unit is rented directly by the owner on sites like VRBO.
You might have to look into this when considering a unit on sites like VRBO.

A great idea for a rental in Turks and Caicos would be to rent a villa. You would be able to have a house right on the beach with a pool and even hire a cook to take care of all your meals while you are there. That would give you the freedom to spend more time with your family and choose exactly where in TCI you would like to stay. If that sounds ideal then you will definitely be able to find a place through Prestigious properties.
