Here at Ku now :)

Hi everyone,

We are at Ku on Anguilla now, and it's great! It's our 1st trip to Anguilla, and the water is AMAZING at Shoal Bay...so clear and turquoise.

Feel free to ask any questions, and if I can answer them, I will. I'll check in later today or tomorrow...

How's the weather looking?

Hi beachgirl86!!

So nice of you to do this while you are there! I am in the process of booking our April trip to Ku, have tickets on hold. The beachfront rooms are already booked:( still hoping for that as it is a ways off yet. But if my memory serves me, there were rooms that were very close to the beach and the pool--would you mind checking what the room numbers are? I know 101-104 about are the beachfront(we stayed there when it was SBBH)--I am after ground floor, as close to the beach as possible, without giving up a view of the beach from the room!! Hey any help or input would be appreciated!!! I wish I would have done this myself last July when we were on that beach checking out the renovations in process(we stayed that time at Cusinart). Anywho, any tips or info in general is greatly appreciated--woohoo I am going back to Anguilla for my fifth time!!!!!!
HAVE A FANTASTIC STAY:)

JAGIRL: The weather here has been off and on....we've had some gorgeous sunshine, and yesterday a HUGE thunderstorm and rain storm blew in around 1:30 p.m. It was crazy! High winds, pouring rain...the locals said it was very unusual. It was beautiful in a stormy way.

BEACHLUVER: We are in an ocean/pool view suite...room 116 on the ground floor. It's the building behind the pool and bar, but we can still see the ocean. I will see if I can check the numbers. Wow, 5 times? I can see why...this place is amazing in so many different ways :)

Would you recommend Ku with a toddler. I know the rooms have a small kitchenette so very convinient but have you seen other kids around. Also is the beach shallow/calm? Thanks

Thanks Beachgirl!!

I just confirmed our stay in April!! I am excited aleady-silly me! Maybe the beachfront rooms will come available, but if not, does it appear that all the others still have a really good view? I remember the property pretty well, and I think we will be fine even if not in the beachfront. Are you really pleased with the cleanliness of the room? You are so kind to help out while you are there--savor every minute of your trip!!!

mnag: There aren't a ton of kids here, but there are a few. And they seem to be having a ball :) The water is very calm and clean, and they are just playing in it, and gathering shells. The water really only churns up when there's a brief thunderstorm.

beachluver: Lucky you! You are like me...you plan your trips WAY in advance! Seems like every room can see the ocean in some way. The cleanliness is pretty good. The rooms are luxury in any way, but they clean them every day and even sprayed for bugs the other day. I think they are still working out a few kinks, but you can't beat the price or the location! We'll be home Monday, and I'll do a full report then!

Thanks a bunch, enjoy yourself!! Look foward to your trip report!!

I was disturbed reading a KU review today on tripadvisor who witnessed a lengthy drunken brawl in the middle of the day on the KU beach in which the KU staff, and the employees of a neighboring barbecue restaurant, cheered on the fight instead of looking to break it up or call the police. Hopefully, the tripadvisor reviewer was describing a one time event. For, as we all know, things like this can happen anywhere, even in the safest of places, and it doesn't necessarily give an accurate reflection of a hotel or an island. But the staff's role in not only failing to stop the fight, but in actually cheering it on, is certainly deplorable.

Laby: That sounds awful! We obviously haven't seen anything like that here, but there are a lot of young kids that work here. I will have to check out that review when I get home. We have had nothing but good experiences with the staff, and hopefully that was a one-time thing. Today's our last day...we'll be home tomorrow :(
