Help with which area to stay in Puerto Rico?
A very active and adventurous group of six of us (3 couples 35-45 y/o) are looking to spend a week (maybe more) in Puerto Rico. We'd like to hike to the waterfalls in the rain-forest, enjoy a little nightlife, enjoy good food & drinks, have access to food markets, snorkeling, calm clear waters, boating/watersports?, and of course laze the days away on the beaches. We're even considering spending a few days on a skippered catamaran to do a little island hopping if we can fit it into the budget.
We're interesting in renting an beachfront vacation home (preferably not a condo) but not sure really what "area" would be best....Vieques, Culebra, Rincon, San Juan, Fajardo, Arecibo?? Which one of these would provide us the best scenery and options? |
Anyone?

Oh poo.

I was considering a trip to Vieques this March, but had a really hard time getting responses here too. I found the forums on TripAdvisor to be helpful and really active.
Good luck! |
I have found that the Tripadvisor forum is more active for Puerto Rico. Might want to try there

Oh poo. :)) Will be going there first time in 3 days, so can't help yet, but can suggest a search of this forum, or just click on the tag "Puerto Rico" and start reading! |
Thanks Dayenu, I tried searching and reading. Just couldn't find what I was looking for. But have fun on your trip!!
So yeah Steveigene and genio67...I went over to TripAdvisor :( |
Our DS stayed at this house in Rincon last summer for a couple of weeks.
http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p148316 It has 3bed/3baths so would easily fit your needs for that. It is a short walk to the beach and to restaurants, etc. |
