help with tobago hotels..Ocean Point??
 
can anyone give me any inforamiton on where to stay in Tobago?
does anyone know anything about Ocean Point Hotel?
we are looking for something quiet and simple and clean

Stay at this hotel only if you have very low expectations. The website is very deceiving. The pool, for example, is tiny, whereas the website makes it look quite large.
If you visit traveladvisor and other review sites, you will find a number of positive reviews mixed with many horrible reviews. You may want to note that the positive reviews use the same cloying language -- written perhaps by friends and relatives in other countries?
there are better places to stay. If it's not out of your price range, try the Kariwak. It's a midpriced hotel for Tobago with lots of charm and personal service and very good food.

Does anyone know if the old Arnos Vale hotel is re-established? We honeymooned there 35 years ago and found it absolutely perfect-- very very private, absolutely gorgeous grounds, the best snorkeling on the island. The rooms were just average, but the setting more than made up for that... Is there anything like that on Tobago now? We'd love to return-- but only if we had that kind of quiet and beauty and perfect off-beach snorkeling. Thanks!

The Arnos Vale has been through several owners since you there. The rooms are in serious need of updating, and the food generally has been rated mediocre. However, some people overlook the hotel's faults for the wonder of its location. Just don't expect luxury.

For quiet, simple and clean, The Blue Waters Inn can't be beat! I love it there. Rooms are right on the beach.

just as a follow up. I am still looking and have not made a decision yet, but I wnat you all to know that
the site that RobertoB recommended, mytobago, is really a wonderful site with great hotel reviews.
I think I have it narrowed down to either Kariwak or Blue Waters Inn.
