HELP with Multi-Island trip please :)
 

Hi Everyone,

I have been looking through these forums for information but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for and was hoping for some help :)
I have never been to the Caribbean before, but am planning a possible trip for this next winter. The two things that I really want to see in the Caribbean are rainforests and waterfalls (like this http://www.mlewallpapers.com/view/4x...alls-1055.html), and beautiful beaches with clear, blue water (like this http://www.wavingtheflag.com/photos/...OBAGOCAYS2.jpg). However, I do undestand that it is just about impossible to find both those things on one island due to the different types of islands (volcanic vs. limestone).
For this reason, I am considering combining two islands to get both experiences. So far my choices are: Guadeloupe/Marie-Galante and Dominica, Barbados and Dominica, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Which of these would you reccomend? Is St. Vincent's rainforest as lush as the one on Dominica? Are there any other easily combined islands i should look into?

One thing to consider are Islands that have either a ferry or puddle jumper plane service between them. Otherwise, you will be routed either to PR or USA to get to another Island.

From Barbados, you can go to Grenada, which will have the lush and waterfalls and then to the Grenadines for the gorgeous water and beaches.

St. Lucia is also very lush and you can get to the Grenadines from there.

I recommend St. Vincent and the Grenadines cause u have a combination of all u looking for :
St. Vincent has Natrual acttraction like rain forest, volcano, waterfalls, adventures etc

the grenadines has the most bueatiful beaches in the world.

the best thing is you can base on any of the islands and still visit the other at little to nothing.

Dominica is the rainforest/river/waterfall capital of the Caribbean. You're not going there for the beaches. Access on local airline LIAT from Barbados or St Lucia or Antigua, Air Caraibes from the French islands. St Lucia has rainforest and mountains and a couple nice beaches. Barbados and Antigua have great white sand beaches. St Vincent has fabulous mountains, but the real draw is sailing/snorkeling in the Grenadine islands. You could also easily combine Barbados and Grenada.

I like the idea of the St. VIncent & Grenadines trip, and adding in Grenada so that you can get your beautiful beaches, too. The Tobago Cays in SVG are really more daytrip destinations and not places where you can linger unless you're renting or chartering a sailboat.

Grenada has hiking and waterfalls, and though it might not have any falls as magnificent as Baleine Falls on St. Vincent, it offers everything else you're looking for, including stunning beaches and that blue-blue water. My first trip to each of those areas included 5 days on Bequia, 1 day on St. Vincent, and ending with a week on Grenada. It was a pretty fabulous vacation, but getting to st. Vincent was pricey and took all day.
