Help Us Pick an Island

Hello, My BF and I are planning a vacation for Feburary. We are undecided on which Island to Visit, We are both 25 years old. We are looking for an Island that has some of the following, nice beaches, some sightseeing for the day, good food, some nitelife (incase we want to have a few drinks out one nite), some shops and stores for some shopping,.Basically we want a place with options. We may want to go into "town" one day and sit on the beach the next. We have visited Mexico,Bermuda, G.Cayman, and Jamaica and want to try a new spot. I was thinking Turks and Caicos but read some reviews, I got the impression it was kind of a dull island. Im thinking St.Johns, Aruba or Barbados.. Help us! Thanks in advance

Provo, T&C is great but the island itself can be kind of boring as far as shopping and nightlife go. What's exciting about Provo to me is the day trips you can take on the water. Not sure about Barbados and St. John but Aruba hits every one of your vacation wants and the reason I like it there is you can do everything or nothing at all and have an enjoyable vacation.

Thanks for the reply. Aruba is sounding better and better. Seems like there is plenty to do on the beach and off. anyone else want to chime in here?

We've been to several Islands and Aruba is next on our list. We are going Sept. '06. Since you've already been to Mexico and Jamaica, Aruba would be a good pick based on your comments.

Barbados is a wonderful island with all of the things you mentioned. It has some of everything the islands can offer, except for gambling and a volcano. Lovely people, wide range of hotels and beaches, great restaurants, both hotel and independent, entertainment, both hotel and elsewhere. See www.barbados.org

Both Aruba and Barbados would probably suit you, but Aruba is probably better based on the kinds of things you like; also, Barbados can get very expensive in February.

Thanks for the comments. After all the research and feedback from people I have spoke to , its settled we are Aruba bound. It seems to have most of the things we are looking for. Nice beaches, shopping, some Nitelife. I also heard the weather is very predictable, not much rain at all. I dont think we will be dissapointed.. Thanks Again.
