HELP - Two couples going to Caribbean - Jan. 2003
We're two 30-year old couples without kids looking for a resort-type vacation with pool & beach & other fun activities. We're not big drinkers. We don't scuba-dive. But would be inclined to play tennis, waterski, kayak, other similar activities. I am leaning toward all-inclusives since it seems it would make travelling with another couple easier. But it's so hard to tell if Sandals is the way to go. We are not looking for budget accomodations but also don't want to break the bank. I'm guessing we'd spend about $1200-$1400 per person per week. Do we sound like you? Please help us make our plans!! Thanks!

Have you considered the Ritz Carlton in Montego Bay, Jamaica? It is not known as an all-inclusive place, but offers an all-inclusive package and has been running specials. Just a thought. It is a beautiful resort. Just do a search under Jamaica for the "Ritz"

I would suggest the Grand Sport resort in Jamaica. I think it's a Sandal's or a Superclubs but is definitely geared to water and land sports with a spa onsite.

Check the all inclusives in the Dominican REpublic. A good site to use is debbiesdominicantravel.com.

January is high season in the Caribbean and prices reflect. Punta Cana, Jamaica or Cancun are less expensive than other islands and you will be able to find an all-inclusive in your price range.
