Help Needed -- Pools & Pavillions info
 

Me and my fiance were thinking about having our honeymoon in St. Thomas. We were intrigued by Pools &amp; Pavillions and were wondering if someone can give us some insight into the place.<BR><BR>The first thing that caught our eye was the fact it seems somewhat secluded. The question is how secluded. How far of a walk is it to Sapphire Beach? Is the resort/island basically safe? What excursions are a must? I realize St. Johns is a must, but what else? Also, are there any other places that I might want to consider besides Pools and Pavillions?

The people are very friendly, but like any other place there are some areas to avoid after dark.I would suggest a day sail on the Winifred. It is a nice intimate day sail around St. John with some nice snorkeling.There are a lot of nice resorts on St. Thomas. Check out the accomodation info on the link above. No matter where you stay you will enjoy the Virgin Islands.

I am a travel agent for AAA. My husband and I honeymooned in St. Thomas this past october. We stayed at the Renaissance Grand, and would never stay any where else. Absolutly loved it! The restaurant AGave which is located atop the cliff of the resort Point pleasant was fabulous! Loved going over to St. johns. There is a sunset sail that leaves from the docks of the Renaissace almost everynight that was amazing! P&amp;P seems to be one of those places that people either really like or really don't like. No middle ground.

I personally prefer a beachfront property, but I have friends who go to P&amp;P every year and have been doing so for a long time.

I've never considered P&amp;P to be isolated...in fact the property is immediately off a road so in some unites you may get traffic noise.

The best part of P&amp;P seems to be that each unit is somewhat sheltered from the other units around it, plus you get your own plunge pool. It's a great setting for a romantic getaway for a couple.

Schultz hit the nail on the head when he said it was a great place for a romantic getaway for a couple. It's not a &quot;resort&quot; where you'll be mingling with other vacationers as the whole concept is for &quot;getaway&quot; and privacy.
I haven't seen it lately but understand that quite substantial renovations have been made over the last couple of years and people I've come across who've stayed there have been very happy.
It's well-located off the main East End road so access to other spots is very easy and it's close to great beaches (including Sapphire).
I know of several residents who go there for getaway weekends just to relax.
If you're more into the whole resort atmosphere then somewhere like Renaissance would suit you better but P&amp;P is by all accounts a very nice place.
By the way, gina1, travel agent, the adjacent island is St. John, not St. JohnS (which is in Antigua)!
