Help!! Need last minute Caribbean trip help please!
 

I love this forum, you guys are always such a big help and I'm in desparate need of help now. This is my situation briefly....

My boyfriend is here from the UK and we had a trip to Jamaica planned. That trip fell through... what a nightmare (but that would take up too much space in the forum to explain)! We are now looking at other places in the Caribbean, probably the Bahamas, but we don't know which island is best. My boyfriend just wants someplace tropical to relax and unwind -Florida is tropical but his visit has not been relaxing, we've been moving. This is really stressing me out because I'm a trip planner and last minute trips don't give much time for research, so I thought I'd call on the experienced :).

Our travel dates are- departing Friday 10-23, returning Monday 10-26, out of Ft Myers FL (RSW). Then my boyfriend goes back to the UK on the 27th. I'd like to keep the hotel/flight budget under $2000. We just want someplace nice to relax, do some sightseeing, an excursion..... we're pretty easy to please and flexible.

I hope I didn't forget any needed info. Thanks for any and all help!! Hopefully I can de-stress soon, this is driving me crazy!!!

Oh wow, my boyfriend just had a good last minute idea... a cruise. Any help with that too would be GREATLY appreciated. Being in FL, that's probably a good idea and we can leave out of Ft Lauderdale. I didn't think he'd want to do that so I'm glad he brought it up!

You don't have a lot of time and you don't want to spend it all traveling or paying high last minute airfare rates- have you considered the Keys? You can fly from RSW to Key West in an hour on Continental for just over $200 each- find a quaint place to stay, book a snorkel trip, rent bikes, etc. Just a thought- or rent a car/jeep and drive up the keys to other spots.

Thank you both! Virginia- I'll check out that site now. Ishkribbl- yes, friends have suggested the same thing, I'll keep that in mind for next time, we've never been. But this time I promised my boyfriend someplace out of Florida.
