Help me, I'm Dizzy...
 

I have just spent the last two hours reading all of the posts and I feel like I am more confused than ever...is there any way someone can put Malli's pool at CJ? Is the beach at Malli or CA even comparable to CJ?...I am surprising my wife for our anniversary in August and I want everything to be perfect. She really wants to have a pool as a stand-by if the ocean is "messy" (seaweed, choppy, etc...). I feel that we would love CJ, but the pool is apparently terrible. Someone just tell me where to go! We are currently booked in the Superior Room at CJ because I thought the $800 difference (10 nights)could be spent better elsewhere. Is this a good idea? On an unrelated note...should I even entertain saving the money and staying at a place like Frangipani?

First off - stop worrying. You are considering two of the best resorts on Anguilla so it's doubtful you will be disappointed with either of them. Since you are already booked at CJ don't second guess yourself stay there - it's a great choice. True, the pool is nicer at Malli but quite frankly hardly anyone uses the pool (there's nothing wrong with it - it's just not the main draw of the resort)at CJ because the beach there is one of the best on the island (it's far superior to the one at Malli). I've been there in August several times and the water has always been "perfect". Seeweed is not a problem and the surf is generally very calm. The Superior rooms are very nice and besides you won't be in your room very much (except at night) so the money you save will go a long way towrd some exciting experiences at the many fine restaurants on the island. Be sure to rent a car and explore the many other amazing beaches Anguilla has to offer.

Thanks for trying to put me at ease...everything I have read about CJ seems fantastic and they did say they have a junior olympic size pool. I didn't see a picture on the website - do you know where I can get one? I guess because you didn't address it that Frangipani shouldn't enter into it...although CA does look good as well.

the beach in front of Cap Jaluca is like a big swimming pool, it's spectacular!

Frangipani is not in the same league as CJ - don't give it another thought. CA is quite nice and the rooms are comparable to CJ but CJ is on a much nicer beach.

I don't know where you can find a picture of the pool at CJ. It's a rectangular pool (perhaps 30 feet wide by 60 feet long) surrounded by very nice plantings. It's an attractive setting but honestly most people don't go to Anguilla or CJ to swim in a pool. There are just too many beautiful white sand beaches lapped by calm gin clear tourquise blue waters to visit which is why nobody uses the pool.
