Help me choose the most "laid back" resort in Anguilla...

We are honeymooning in June and have chosen Anguilla as our destination due to the obvious (beaches, food) and I like the idea of a day trip to St. Bart's. I have budgeted $5-7K including airfare from Houston, TX. We are planning on 5 nights. I would like a hotel with a laid back atmosphere and somewhere that has some seclusion and romance. Any advice or suggestions you have about a hotel choice or just general info as this is my first trip to this part of the world would be great, thanks

Let me clarify a little on the budget, I am looking to spend $400-600 a night, we would stay longer than 5 days if possible.

The time of year would really help alot. Peak season, mid December thru April, can cost 3 times as much.

Anguilla has the best restaurants in Caribbean, lovely choice for a honeymoon. All the resorts there are romantic, and secluded.

Sovyou know, while double, day trip to St. Barth requires a little bit of work and quite a bit of money. (either small flight, or ferry to St. Martin, taxi to other ferry to St. Barth, or ferry to St. Martin and then a small flight. )

Hi Jason Congrats on your upcoming nupitals and all the best for 2013! I am the director of sales for Anacaona Boutique Hotel on Anguilla www.anacaonahotel.com and I think that we would be the right fit for you for your honeymoon. If you would like to have a look at our website and email me at [email protected] I would be happy to assist with questions and information if needed. Hope that you had a great Holiday season.
Best
Frank

You can get some great deals in June. Do call the property and let them know it is your honeymoon. Consider Frangipani or Carimar, both on Mead's Bay. CuisinArt, on Rendezvous Bay, is lovely and has deals in the summer. My favorite is Cap Juluca, but they are going through some ownership issues and may not be flexible on their rates. A villa may be a good option too. Sheriva is fabulous, with space reserved on Maundy's Bay (Cap's beach). Paradise Cove is not on the beach, but is a short drive to Cove Bay, and is very private

I can't give you any advice about the island however, my wife and I had a great experience using American Airlines Houston-Miami-St. Martin. Then you will have to take a taxi or smal plane across. AA is the only airline (I believer) that offers same day service from Houston to St. Martin.
