help in choosing island

I grew up in Fla. but have never visited the caribean isl. We are looking for unspoiled,QUIET,beaches. Resorts that are not trying to sell you a "package". It is between Dominican Rep. and Turks and Caicos. Any help is much appreciated.

Never been to DR but went to Turks and Caicos (Provo) last June and loved it. The water is beautiful! We also love it because there are no cruise ships or people trying to sell things to you on the beach. It is a great place to go if you really just want to relax on one of the world's best beaches.

For what you stated your are looking for, definatley Turks and Caicos over the DR.

Addtional options would be Grand Cayman or the out Islands of the Bahamas.

not sure if you want to be this quiet/unspoiled but you could look at isla mujeres, isla holbox < golf cart islands, or vieques.
on provo you can stay on taylor bay, sopadilla bay or long bay beaches in villas - no resorts on any of these, approx 20 min drive to grace bay beach/restaurants.
