Help!!!!!! I need advice...........
The seven mile beach on the Grand Cayman Island- is it good for swimming and snorkeling? I heard some of them were rocky?
Where is the best place to stay with a nice beach for swimming with children? I have heard some nice things about the condos on this island...........please give advice... |
Yes to your question. A few places are rocky but it's not a problem. As to where to stay - check out caymanvacations.com

There is excellent snorkeling off of treasure island resorts. There are nice beaches up and down 7 mile beach.
treasure island resort is centrally located and has good facilities. |
Just got back from a week in Grand Cayman. Stayed at the Christopher Columbus. Nice condo, pool, and beach area out front. Looked like all condos within half mile or so adjacent had nice beach as well.

Uh, there is nothing better than snorkeling there. You kneel down on the shore & you are there. Small prob getting out to the open over coral but not too bad. Hopefully someone with you is experienced. Take a car, go away to some of the nice neighborhoods & pull off.I found a spot where the floor was covered in queen conk. Unreal. Eat that chowder too. So good. Saw lots of big colorful Macaws (parrots) flying around. Paradise.

Stay in condos towards westbay for the best soft sand. I spent a lot of time at the public beach with my 6 year old son because they have a play ground on the ocean with a bathroom and drinking fountains. He loved it here and so did we. The playgound area is somewhat shaded. I would choose plantana. I have heard great things about aqua bay. I would stay away from treasure island, the beach is very rocky there!

We just stayed at Aqua Bay and it is very nice. The beach is sandy and a great place for the kids to play. The condos are beautifully furnished and there are gorgeous views from the condo of the pool and ocean. We are already planning on going back next year.

I remember great snorkeling from the beach. Treat yourself to a day trip though - stingray city for example.
