Help for March Carribean Getaway for active couple
My husband and I (we're in our early 30's) are looking for an Caribbean escape. Here's the catch: neither of one of us enjoy being at the beach for more than a day. We're both very active...enjoy hiking, snorkeling, boating, jeeping, etc.
timeline: 1 week We are looking for a warm weather escape with the majority of the time being active with an occasional day at the beach. where do you suggest we go? thank you kindly! Ligree |
I would suggest Grenada. It is one of the smaller islands and has a variety of things to see-and-do - hiking, mountain-biking, sailing, adventure jeep tours to the rainforest, snorkelling at the world's first underwater sculpture park, river-tubing, etc. Grenada is famously known as the Spice Island and you can explore old spice plantation estates, spice processing stations and rum distilleries still in full operation today. The locals are very friendly and welcoming and you will have a great time.

I'd love to know what destination you pick. Your post sounds exactly like what my husband and I are trying to find. Right now St Lucia is at the top of our list, followed by Costa Rica.

St. Maarten may be an open - rent a car go exploring around the island - can take an hour ferry to Sabre - beautiful island for hiking.....could also ferry to St. Barths and Anguilla - take a day trip to Pinel Island and Tintemarre....
