HELP! Favorite Hotel Went All-Inclusive, Need New Low-Key Resort For Family of 4

Hello! We have stayed at Tamarind for the past two years on the west coast of Barbados. It has been the perfect mix of low-key resort, plentiful water activities included, walk-in snorkeling, and non-all-inclusive dining options. Just perfect. They have been bought out by Marriott, however and changed to all-inclusive. We will pay 2k more for the week, to stay in the same room and continue to eat elsewhere in the evenings (we also don't drink alcohol). I am late for planning Spring Break so will likely book again, BUT before taking that step, was wondering if there are other ideas for a similar experience in the Caribbean? Do not want a mega-resort, the Elegant Hotel collection (Tamarind, Turtle Beach) feel small, but still have plenty of offerings, kid-friendly too, calm beach. We are going for one week in late March, we would like to spend about 5k or less on accommodations. Able to leave resort and walk to anything is a plus, would like to enjoy some local culture. Thank you!

We had a great stay last year at Beach View. On the west coast across from Payne's Bay.

Also, the Barbados forum on TripAdvisor is very active. You might consider posting your question there as well.
