HELP Choosing Island

Family of four wants pristine and quiet beach out our front door -so to speak. Our kids are college age but do NOT want to be at a clothing-optional beach. St Marten appears to have beaches like we are looking for but many potentially nude ones that have us skeptical.

We loved St John many years ago but can't seem to find anyplace right on a sandy beach without having to walk far. Grand Cayman has great beaches but we have been there twice. We would like someplace a little more quiet and beautiful. Hence the attraction to St Marten. Is it possible to avoid the nude beaches on St Marten and still enjoy many beaches?

Anyone have some ideas for an island with beautiful beaches with little or no nudity? And for accommodations right on the beach? We are open to either a nice hotel (4+ stars - yet priced decently) or a condo/villa also on the beach that is decent.

Thx a ton!

You don't say when you are going or your budget, but check out both villa and hotel options on Virgin Gorda, BVI.

Yes, it's possible to avoid nudity on St. Martin's beaches but you may encounter women going topless on just about every beach.

Sorry, you have to define in terms of dollars by your term "priced decently" - the contributors here don't know what YOU think is 'decent".

Grace Bay on Providenciales (Turks & Caicos) has 11+ miles of sugar white beach lapped by the brightest turquoise waters you'll ever see. and you'll still have all the amenities of a 4 or 5 star resort. Many sections of the beach are virtually "people free" - if the section you are on has too many people for you simply walk 50 to 100 yards and you'll be all by yourself. There are plenty of "Condo Resorts" where you stay in multi-bedroom units that are just steps from the sand.

For a vibe similar to St. John look at Virgin Gorda. It's in the British Virgin Islands so you won't find nudity/topless bathing as it's against the law. The island has several beach front resorts (check out Little Dix Bay, Mango Bay or Nail Bay Resorts) and lots of beachfront & beach access rental villas (look at villas at Guavaberry Spring Bay or Mahoe Bay).

Grace Bay on Providenciales would be a good choice for you. There are many condo/hotel complexes that are steps away from the beach.

For the last few years, we've been staying at THE VENETIAN, which has one of the most uncrowded sections of beach. In fact if I get up early enough, I'm often the only person on the beach!

The condos are swoon-worthy, with very comfortable bedrooms, high end amenities and large terraces overlooking Grace Bay.

We are going back for the fifth - or is that sixth - time at the end of December with our adult kids and their boyfriend/girlfriend.

We also really liked WEST BAY CLUB, although the price has increased dramatically in the last few years.
