Help Choosing An Island or AI
My wife are celebrating our ten year anniversary in August. We looking for an island to visit to highlight our celebration. We are in our mid 30's. We are looking for a resort that has a beautiful pool beach area with a great pool bar so we can do absolutely nothing but relax for at least one day. Most our time would like to be spent shopping, sightseeing, bar hopping, and enjoying a little nightlife filled with good music. Moderate gambling would also be nice. Should we look for an all inclusive resort since we would like to leave the resort? I would like to have all our expenses out of the way, but is it worth the extra charge. My wife loves to shop. Liked Las Vegas more for the Forum, shopping, sights, and food than gambling.

Try Sandals Royal Bahamian.

Thanks for the advice. How is the shopping around the Sandals Royal Bahamian.? Also is it all-inclusive or is it worth it?

Shopping is great in Nassau. Atlantis is close and a must to see, great gambling.<BR>Sandals has a great private island out from the beach, super place to spend romantic time together. Daughter was married there last May.

Go to www.atlantis.com and take the tour.

Try Curacao. It created a lot of wonderful memories for us. The Marriott has a beautiful pool area and bar. Very relaxing. Lots of sun. I wouldn't recommend an AI for you based on what you seem to be looking for. Curacao has wonderful cuisine and you need to dine at several restaurants there. Lots of shopping and sightseeing. The Curacao distillery offers sampling of their liquor and there is also a brewery on the island that gives tours. Both are free. The Marriott has a casino, but gambling is not huge on the island. Your wife sounds like she enjoyed Vegas for the same reason I did. I have no interest in gambling, but enjoyed the food, shows, sights and a little shopping.
