Help! 10 yr anniversary!

Next october is my 10 yr and I would love to spring a quick weekend trip on my wife to some secluded beach (from Wash. D.C.) What would you suggest? Would love a high-end hotel that really pampers.

I live in DC and as far as I can tell there are very few direct flights to the Caribbean...I know because I just got back from St. Barts and it took us three flights to get there! You might want to think about Miami Beach (2.5 hour flight) (check out the Fodor's US section) or Puerto Rico (4 hour flight). Hope this helps.

Try The Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau. Wonderful upscale resort and spa. Not to far from home.

Pink Sands Hotel/Resort on Harbour Island in the Bahamas. My wife and I spent our 10th there and it was WONDERFUL!

Just keep in mind that October is still hurricane season so you may want to be south of the hurricane areas.

Louis, On the island of St. Lucia there is a terrific hotel called Landera Resort. You will have your own pool and the bed everything appears to be outside because the walls of the room are open to the outside if that makes sense. Go to there website and you'll see what I mean very luxerious and romantic. Theres only 24 rooms.

Louis take her to Little Palm Island for a Long weekend in Keys. This is first class resort in the U.S. and will blow your mind. Other than going further south to the island's this will be as close as gets. Look up my recomendation on the net. This will not be cheap. Harry Truman loved this resort, and I can see why! Take a Look. There are only 30 Bungalows on the island and it is private. Do not think any kids are welcome.

Todd D.

Louis,
Look into The Hyatt on Grand Cayman. It's an hour flight from Miami. Very nice resort and Seven Mile beach is gorgeous! There's also the Westin on GC, that would be a great place to stay. Check out www.caymanvacations.com Good luck with your search!
Sandy
