Has anybody heard any news at all about the Caribbean Club (Grand Cayman)???

Has anybody heard any news at all about the Caribbean Club??? I've done some research on it, make that I've been trying to anyway, and keep running into walls. I read a post, from May 2004, that the CC was closing 'to make room for progress...' The sites that are the result of engine searches don't turn up any usable information. Help!!! With any luck, someone who reads this will have some level of familiarity. Other posts date, also, back to 2004. Thank you.

If I'm thinking of the correct property, it was badly damaged from Ivan. It's been torn down and a new condo is going in on the property.

I recall the units being sold off individually and now(from a realty website)...

"The redevelopment of the Caribbean Club begins January 2005. Thirty Six (36) units with underground parking, restaurants, gym, rental pool, etc.."

You can view some artist drawings.

Yup, another classy old place makes may for 7 storey condos (and this development was planned way before Ivan). 7MB, Miami Beach... high rises en masse.... if that is your cup of tea.

Me ? I'll stay out East in Grand Cayman thanks very much

Hey Tom - we enjoyed our stay on Grand Cayman, although June is very hot and humid!! I personally liked 7 Mile Beach with its beautiful water and its convenience to restaurants, etc. (We stayed at the Marriott Beach Resort) However, some of theless populated parts of the island are beautiful. We liked exploring in our rental car with the steering wheel on the right! We enjoyed our meal at The Reef; however, had to move inside once the food was served because of the flies - I was glad to have the a.c.!
