Haiti Earthquake

I have a trip planned to D.R. in mid February. Does anyone think we should go somewhere else because of the earthquake? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, John

the earthquake hit in Haiti not DR. DR is fine

No reported problems in the DR at this time. It would be the same as cancelling a trip to Jamaica because of the earthquake.

Even though the DR and Haiti share an island (a large one at that), the resort areas in the DR are hundreds of miles from Haiti and weren't affected.

FYI, my 'resort' we're going to on the north side was affected as it cracked the swimming pool and now it is not available for swimming. So, there may be some small issues.
