Group of Women...Where to Go?

We are a group of about 10-15 women. Celebrating a 30th Bday for the group so fun is on the agenda. Going in November. Looking for suggestions.

How about Cancun? It's a fun place and not too expensive, plus it's easy tog et to from the US. My friends have stayed in the Moon Palace and raved about how nice it was. Good Luck!

Do a Windjammer singles cruise. I travel alot and have been all over the Carribean, never had so much fun. They keep it 50/50 so even with that many females you'll still find plenty of men.

Negril Jamaica. Seven miles of the most beautiful beach lined with little hotels and bars. Reggae parties on the beach at night.

For women travelling alone you may want to consider Aruba..probably one of the safest islands with tons of activities, beautiful beaches and great dining and consistent good weather. Check out of the packges rates at:

thank you all for your ideas. Everyone I talk to keeps mentioning Cancun or Jamica, I think for cost.
Thank you again

Hi Tracy,
It sounds like fun. My husband and I recently enjoyed The Wyndham on St. Thomas -- all inclusive, no cares (good food!). If you get a chance, visit my 10-page photo essay on our trip.

Amy's got the right answer. Aruba is one of the safest islands anywhere, is completely out of the hurricane zone and has the most consistent weather anywhere in the Caribbean. While Aruba is not the cheapest island, it has the most beautiful beaches, lots of night life (small, very nice casinos) and a terrific array of dining options.

Have fun! You only turn 30 once!

Wow, 10-15 women in their 30's... do you need a male guide? I've been to the caribbean six times in the last two years... Virgin Gorda, Tortola, Bonaire, Curacao, Belize, Grand Cayman... plus prior to that I've been to Cancun, St. Kitts, Nevis. yada yada yada..

Depends what you're looking for... Cancun is a lot like Florida... rows of nice hotels, not a palm tree in the ground that wasn't planted there by a corporation/resort. But lots of night life, etc. I prefer more off the beaten places with less crowds, less civilization... Virgin Gorda was nice or anything in the British Virgin Islands. Also, though I haven't been to Aruba, that's probably good place... I've been to neighboring islands of Bonaire and Curacao and it's true about the consistently nice weather there... no hurricanes ever, rarely even rains more than a foot or two all year.

Gotta go. Final word - how about coming to Michigan with your group and visiting me?

ARUBA!!! Just like the above messages -
Aruba is one of the safest places in the world, its incredibly beautiful, clean, fun, filled with friendly people, and great hotels, restaurants, and casinos. My group and I got great package rates. You can e-mail [email protected] -
she is so helpful, and worked really hard to get us the best price. The beaches are so perfect, and the food was the best out of all the islands I have been to. Have fun wherever you go, and be safe - outside of Aruba, my girlfriends and I have run into a few problems.

Please tell us what "fun" means to you? Diving/snorkeling? drinking and dancing all night? Nude beaches? Shopping? The all-inclusive lifestyle where there are 3 meals a day with activities and excursions offered? Where are you originating from? All over the US? West coast? I 2nd the emotion for Windjammer. I've been on 4. I don't do the singles trips but have friends that do.

I'm going to Aruba in June - spent a short time there several years ago, loved it. I've been to St. Thomas, San Juan, Virgin Gorda, Tortola, Curaco, St. Martin, Cancun, etc. Stayed at the Omni in Cancun in an all-inclusive - it was great, inexpensive, and it's easy to get around there 'cause everything is mainly in the "hotel zone". The group I was with was so much fun that the activity director chartered a private bus for us and went with us bar hopping - all nite long! You may want to check out cruises - I've been on 7 of them and found that it is a great way to visit lots of places in a week. The unfortunate thing is that you don't get to spend a lot of time in each one. I've been with a group as well as just with my husband - never had a bad experience - found that Carnival generally has better service, larger rooms for the $$, and better entertainment. If you're looking for an absolutely beautiful place to see, check out St. Martin - I checked out several of the resorts while I was there and they were beautiful. St. Thomas, of course, is the shopping capital of the islands and that's where I spent my 30th birthday - a very neat place to buy yourself a great present (jewelry, of course). Aruba's beaches really captured my heart (and I live at the beach in Fla), and that's why I'm going back for a week - happy traveling, and hope some of my info was helpful.

Me and 5 friends rented a villa in St. Martin for one of the women's 40th birthday. Great island to explore with all of your friends. Fantastic food, shopping, people, and beaches. However, you're looking to go during hurricane season. If you can't put off a trip until after hurricane season, then I'd suggest Aruba, since it's out of the hurricane belt. And, the shoppings great!

Stay at an all inclusive resort. They are generally safer than some of the downtown areas. There is enough to do at many of them where you wont have to leave the resort.

Ladies, you'll have fun almost everywhere but avoid Jamaica like the plague. First recommendation is Aruba, second is Cancun for the beaches and nightlife, and third is Puerto Rico for it's variety, American connection, and nightlife.

Aruba is the way to go. In addition to everything else it has great shopping.
