Grenada the right choice?

Trying to decide where to go for my son's spring break (he's 16). We have been to T&C, St. Lucia, Anguilla, Antigua and Nevis. Have been reading the reviews on Grenada and sounds like a great place with lots to see and do. My only concern is where to stay. We loved Cap Juluca (Anguilla)and Paradiso (Nevis) so now I am spoiled and would love something comparable. I have looked at Spice Island but their pool suites are one bedroom. Laluna has a two bedroom with pool but I'm concerned about the bathrooms (hate lizards). Does anyone have any other ideas? Would prefer villa with pool on beach. Would consider another too but, would prefer one similar to Nevis or St. Lucia because my son loves the hiking etc. Since this is our only trip of the year we can stay in the Cap Juluca price range. Thanks.

Barbados has everything except gambling and a volcano. A class act is Coral Reef Club, which has a couple of 2 bedroom villas on the grounds. See www.barbados.org and www.coralreefbarbados.com

There aren't tons of villas on the beach, but there are several within a short walk to a beach and many that are water front but not beach front. We used www.SpiceIsleVillas.com last year and again this year for booking our villa in the beautiful Lanse Aux Epines regions of Grenada. Most of the larger villas also offer separate two bedroom rates so that you can get a pretty good deal on nicer, luxury villas without paying to use the whole place.

I'm heading back to Grenada in May after falling head over heels for it last summer. It offers so much of what you're looking for-I hope you find a villa that will suit.

The only problem is that Grenada is hosting the World Cricket Cup in April and that almost all accommodations have already been booked--certainly all of them of the standard you're used to. If you can travel away from the WCC dates you'll have a better chance of finding something in your desired range.

Barbados does have gambling - slot machines, race course...not that I think it is an incentive to go there, especially for OP's 16 year old!!

Thanks for the replies. When I first looked at Grenada I didn't realize April was going to be bad with the WCC. Every place I have checked has indeed been booked. Since our dates aren't flexible (school holiday), I'm afraid we may have to look into another island and save Grenada for another time. Unfortunately, we will run into the same problem with Barbados so, any other ideas? Gambling was mentioned on Barbados, we don't gamble so that's not an issue.

Well Grenada is pretty much as good as St.Lucia and the other Caribbean Island. Some of my friend went at Windward @ Prickly Bay: http://www.windwardpricklybay.com/attractions.htm. it's reasonable priced and Got a powerboat, private pool and so on.. You could check out more about there service and prices there. Another great thing that is reliable and fast is Internet....something I need from time to time on Holiday.

This thread is 4 years old. Please do not dig up old threads to advertise.

And IMO, Windward Prickly Bay cannot possibly compare to Spice Island Beach Resort, nor Cap Juluca.
