Just got back from our 8th or 9th trip to Grenada. I agree with the other poster that Coconut Beach is the best restaurant on the island. I would add to the list the new restaurant Cove on the western coast road, just south of Concord. Very nice and a great view. The restaurant at La Sagesse is also wonderful. Had a lively meal at Stuarts on True Blue Bay but had to wait about an hour to get the check. La Luna is fun for a drink, but I thought the restaurant was more appearance than substance. A good lunch spot is the beach bar at the Calabash Hotel (shrimp & calaloo roti was the culinary high point of the trip). For good, cheap, authentic roti at lunch, try D Roti shop (connected to D Greengrocer) in Grand Anse. La Boulangerie in Grand Anse for pizza or pasta.

The lobster dishes at Coconut Beach are the best. Try Ginger Boy! Another place worth mentioning is the beach bar on Morne Rouge. Sur la Mer serves excellent roti (try their lambi roti, nice and tender) and the drinks are cheap. Plus, the beach is nice and quiet there.

You can find some restaurant reviews on the discussion board at grenadaexplorer.com. I think Tanda's list is a little out of date (Mama's closed; Rudolph's burned and moved to Grand Anse, for example). True Blue and La Belle Creole are some other good ones.

I was happy to see your post that you have been to Grenada 8 or 9 times since everyone just looks at me when I mention vacationing in Grenada. We have previously been to St. Martin 9 or 10 times, but are no longer comfortable going there and looking for a new spot.
Also have been to Antigua, Barbados, Barbuda, St. Barts, Anguilla, and Saba.

Would you mind sharing what you like about Greneda that keeps you going back? I see very few posting on Grenada

We just returned from Grenada. Without a doubt, the best meals I've had in the Caribbean were at Rhodes, the new restaurant at the Calabash. The place is not cheap, but worth it.

That would be Gary Rhodes, the famous master chef from the UK at the Calabsh.

Grenada is a unique island which is very diverse in many ways. It is first and foremost one of the most beautiful islands I have ever visited.

The restaurants are many and they serve good food. There are no casinos and that can be a plus for certain people.

It has some of the friendliest local people anywhere and they are well-mannered as well.

The beaches are glorious, some small and some large, and none are crowded. There is about 45 beaches around the island.

I have a bit of bias for this island as I have been travelling the Caribbean since 1962, and I have seen almost all of them, many by sailing as a charter skipper, and Grenada is still top of the list. I try to go there at least once a year. Go for more than 1 week or you will regret that you didn't because almost everyone says 1 week is too short.
