Grand Cayman, St. Johns, St. Lucia or Aruba

Hey All!
My boyfriend and I are looking into a Caribbean Island that has AMAZING snorkeling and beaches! We are willing to spend up to $6k total (together, with food and excursions). We've looked at Caneel Bay in St. John's and some places in Aruba, we would just like some recent feedback on where people LOVE! We've had friends who went to St. Lucia but I've heard the mosquitos are bad and the all inclusives are far from good snorkeling. My boyfriend isn't a lay on the beach guy, so any place that has lots of things to do would be awesome too!

Thanks for all of your help!!!
Meg

For snorkeling and great beaches your pick of St Johns is spot on. You can go hiking as well on St John and a day trip/boat excursion to the British virgin islands to keep your boyfriend from being bored. Another island that may fit would be Grand Cayman...nice beach, snorkeling, Turtle farm, Dolphins, Botanical gardens and great restaurants. Personally I would stick to Caneel.

Agree with mnag - if great snorkeling is a priority then skip Aruba. Cancel bay has 7 different beaches with terrific walk-in snorkeling within a few minutes walk of every room at the resort plus there are numerous other beaches with very good to excellent snorkeling all around the island.

Grand Cayman is nice too but St. John comes as close to paradise as you can find anywhere.
