Grand Cayman Ritz or Sandals Barbados
I am planning a one week vacation for this May 2017. I'm having a hard time deciding between The Ritz Carlton at Grand Cayman or the Sandals Barbados. I've heard Grand Cayman and Barbados have similarities -- however, Grand Cayman having better snorkeling and Barbados more sight seeing. My draw to Sandals is the all inclusive. I'm looking for the best beaches, pools, facilities -- all around a better experience. Any advice?

Grand Cayman has some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. It also has world class snorkeling and diving. All Inclusive food is average at best. Yes, some of the higher end resorts will be (slightly) better, but gourmet food and AI = oxy moron. Some people get sucked into the beautiful pictures for Sandals, and think they are high end....but they are just another AI.
If you want great snorkeling, amazing restaurants, and miles and miles of white sand beach.....Go to Grand Cayman.

I agree, GC has some of the best restaurants in the Caribbean. If you are a foodie go with GC. And 7 mile beach is lovely. However fine dining is not cheap on GC so you may want to keep that in mind. I personally would be inclined to pick the Ritz over a Sandals experience any day. Good luck with your decision.
