Planning a trip for late March using AmEx points. Can't decide -- Westin GC or Marriott Los Suenos? I've read reviews on both and am still indecisive. We wanta place that has a beach, pool, spa and golf would be nice, comfy rooms, decent food (we're food/wine snobs) and peace and quiet. Just looking for a relaxing vacation with the option of doing something...or nothing.

I personally know someone that just came back 2 weeks ago from Grand Cayman. She stayed at the Weston and absolutely loved it. It is on an amazing beach and she had nothing but great things to say.

I've read on the message board that the Marriott has had a lot of beach erosion. If that's important to you sounds like the Westin would be the better choice.

Anyway, Westin has those "heavenly beds" they advertise.

Just so you know Roodee, the Marriott that has bad beach erosion is on SMB in Grand Cayman, not Los Suenos. The beach in front of the Westin on SMB is beautiful.

Marriott is supposed to start beach restoration in Feb., don't know if it will be restored in time for your trip, though. You may want to call.

She is talking about the Marriot in Costa Rica.

Anyway, I personally would opt for the Caymans. Not that Costa Rica wouldn't be nice, but from what your looking for, Caymans fit the bill.
