I prefer Grand Cayman because the beach is prettier and the resturants are better. Aruba was okay, but the wind blows sand real hard on you. It hurts. The beach in front of the Marriott had seaweed all over it. The Ocean Club villa we stayed in was nicer than the Westin in the Caymans. The Caymans beach in front of the Westin was the best. Aruba was too wild west dessert looking for my taste. They both had great snorkling trips. Grand Cayman was a shorter flight for us. That's another reson why I liked it better. I'm not into nightlife too much, but I would say that Aruba probably has more. If you want great beaches and nighlife, try Cancun. Cancun has the best beaches , and Senor Frog's.

I like Aruba better, yes the wind blows but that keeps bugs away and makes it feel cooler.
There is definately More Nightlife in Aruba. Both Islands are cleaner and less 3rd World than the Rest of the Caribbean (prices are also usually higher for this reason).
Most of my clients seem to like the Wyndham (one couple returns several times a year).
The Radisson and Hyatt are also nice, I did not like the Marriott (but that I guess is Personal Judgement).
Aruba Grand is also very nice.
Actually there is only 1 resort in Aruba I did not like the Bushiri (it was run down and tired).

Both islands are great, but very different.
Grand Cayman is a British island. It's clean and conservative. While there are numerous good restaurants, nightlife options are limited. There is much to see and do, both above and below water.
Aruba is Dutch, with a heavy South American feel. Compared to Cayman, it's wild. More nightlife, more great restaurants. Toplessness is tolerated and not uncommon on the beach. (In Cayman, even thongs are taboo.) It also is a fun island to explore, and, like Cayman, Aruba is very safe and clean.
Both are great destinations offering very different cultural experiences. Your choice.

I personally did NOT feel safe on other parts of Aruba. I'm not talking about Palm Beach, okay? But trying to drive to the other side of the island to see Baby Beach was not a success due to the strong feeling of "uneasiness" I felt driving through those neighhorhoods! I certainly hope Grand Cayman turns out to be nicer to drive around once I get there! So far, only Bermuda was nice enough to drive around from one end to the other without one bit of nervousness!!
