Grand Cayman Island

Going to Grand Cayman Island at the end of November and was wondering about some details like how much a taxi could be from an airport to 7 Mile Beach, how do you pay for it (in which money??), do they take USD?... Thanks.

The Cayman Islands have the Cayman Dollar so That is what I have used in the past and I believe what is expected of vacationers. Not sure how much a taxi would be as I have always rented a car.

Business, including taxis, accept both the Cayman Dollar and the US Dollar as tender (they really do not care which you use). Just be advised that any change you receive will be in Cayman Dollars. The Cayman Dollar coverts at a cash rate of: $1 Cayman = $1.25 US or $.80 US = $1 Cayman.

The actual taxi rates are posted at the airport taxi stand. Figure around $20-$25, plus tip to Central Seven Mile Beach.

Thank you! So it would not be difficult to exchange USD on Cayman dollars?

You really do not need to exchange your US $ to CI $. US cash is accepted everywhere.
