Grand cayman Condos
 

My wife and three preteen/teen daughters
enjoy quiet vacations at Beach front
condos.
We enjoy reading on a beautiful and uncrowded
beach and we love walk -in snorkeling(two
of us love to snorkle for hours). Close proximity to a few good restaurants would
be a plus!

We have had success for the past two years
with Secret Harbour on St Thomas
and Gentle Winds on St Croix.

Can anyone help us to decide between THE
HAVEN at Cayman Kai or the Reserve at Rum Point on the north shore of Grand Cayman?

All comments or other suggestions welcomed

It will list many of the condos on Grand Cayman, and show you where they are located along with several pictures.

If you want quiet, you can also find seclusion on the northern section of Seven Mile Beach. There is very good walk-in snorkeling there at Cemetary reef. You'll have a much better variety of restaurants to choose from by staying on 7MB.

We've stayed at Plantana twice. (June both times) It is on Seven Mile beach but we found it to be uncrowded with a nice stretch of beach. Far enough away from Georgetown that the cruise ships are not a problem nor are the hotel crowds. Within an easy walk to Governors house/beach where you can snorkel just off shore. We really like Plantana and the folks there. Have not been since Ivan but have heard they are back and beter than ever. Enjoy.

Have you looked at the other posting here that queries the same kind of thing? Put in a serach for grand cayman condos-- or condos on 7 mile beach-- and you'll get lots of detailed responses. (We've stayed at both Grand Bay and Discovery Point and liked them both. Not walking distance of restaurants, but good snorkeling and good tennis court and pool and spa. Beach not real wide there, but nice anyway.)

on the East End?

would like to hear about accomodations,
food, nearby restaurants, and walk in
snorkeling.

Trip Advisor reviews are generally
positive but is it windy all the time
on the beach???

Tom Cayman is the manager(?) or owner at the Reef Resort and posts here quite frequently. Maybe he can tell you more about his place.
I would type in his name and read some of his old posts.

I'm afraid I couldn't possibly comment directly when it relates to The Reef, that would be inappropriate for a forum.

There are, however, a few other frequent posters on here who can advise you on The Reef, as well as Cayman Kai properties.

Re Cayman Kai properties, do look carefully into "walk in" snorkelling, as in quite a lot of parts of Cayman Kai the water is too shallow for that.
