Grand Case Beach Club - St. Martin

Has anyone stayed here? Need any/all comments - trying to plan a honeymoon and our travel agent has suggested this hotel. Website looks a little sketchy.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I haven't stayed there, but spent time on the property a couple of years ago. It was very nice at the time, and I assume it is still so. However, I don't have updated info. I do know that it is one of the premier places to stay in the Grand Case area.

So....topping for more upated info, if anyone has been there recently.

We stayed there about 5 years ago. It is an older property, but well maintained, and very friendly staff. And its just great to be able to walk into town to a different restaurant every evening for another great meal.

The beach is small, or if you prefer 'intimate' just not good for long walks on the beach. For that you take a quick ride to Orient beach.

Depends on what you're looking for in a resort, but for a nice quiet place to spend a week, this is a good resort. If/when we go back to St. Martin, this will be at the top of the places we'll be looking into. It fit our vacation style very well.

Laying on the hammocks under the seagrape vines watching the sunset... yes, it was a nice place.

Sorry I don't have more recent information.

Just to elaborate on what Ken said, the beach at the resort is on the small side, but the remainder of Grand Case has a lovely, calm beach that is great for walking. It's one of my favorites on the island.

I have stayed there numerous times and can recommend it as comfortable, friendly and well maintained. It is quiet, and although it has a good watersports facility, it is not a resort with a lot of scheduled activities. The beach most people talk about is called Petit Plage, and it is a comfortable size. It is on one side of a rock outcrop where thr restaurant is. The other side runs along the main part of the hotel and is what you see in many of the hotel publicity pictures. It can be very narrow at the hotel, depending on the state of erosion, but widens out as you go toward Grand Case village, and can be walked for a long distance.

We stayed at GCBC in December of 2003 and enjoyed it. As others have said - it is an older resort but very well-maintained. The gardens are especially lovely and mature. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach is not big (really 2 beaches on either side of a point (great views from the point). However both beaches are good for swimming and there is some snorkeling near the point. The pool is small (which was fine with us - we are beach people and just used the pool to cool off in). The proximity to Grand Case and its many restaurants is a definite plus. The water sports people are great - very helpful and a lot of water toys (floaty mattresses, snorkeling gear, noodles) are included. I would recommend renting a car for a couple of days to check out some of the other beaches and the rest of the island. We liked Orient Beach.
