Gran Bahia Jamaica
Am considering Gran Bahia Jamaica for this fall and would love to hear anyone's pros/cons. We will be booking the Golden Royal service. Can you only have (4) a la carte restaurant per visit? States Golden get 4 a la cartes but then what are the other 3 - buffet? And how rocky is the beach? Is it bare foot tolerable or are sandals a must? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Take care, LisaS

There's more than one Gran Bahia in Jamaica. Which one are you looking at?
Runaway Bay has so-so beaches (kind of rocky in most places); MoBay varies depending on where you are (some beaches really good, some horrible). But I've never visited this hotel. It's a high-rise monstrosity, but if that's what you want, it should fit the bill. All the Gran Bahia hotels are fairly new but not very upscale.

I think there is still just the one in Runaway Bay.
Other recent Spanish hotel openings in JA include the Grand Palladium in Lucea and the Iberostar near MoBay. Maybe this year the new Rui MoBay.
Gran Bahia is very large though not yet complete.
