Thanks for providing the news reports.
Luckily, SO FAR there has not been a rash of crimes against tourists on Grand Cayman like that which has plagued SO MANY other locations. You can find additional crime information, statistics and police news releases on the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service website: http://www.rcips.ky/home.htm |
tedelano-I think either place would make for a wonderful honeymoon. We have been to both,as a family, so can't speak to the nightlife but the beaches are beautiful. We have been to GC in 2001, 2005 and 2008. Provo in 2009. I would say currently Provo is the less "built up" of the two. But we always travel in June so crowds have never been a problem.
Not sure when they are honeymooning but summer is off season both places-less people, better rates. We found great food on both islands. Also, we felt safe both places. We remain aware of our surroundings and try to act as we would at home-lock yours doors, don't walk around drunk after dark, etc JK, but sorta serious. Crime happens everywhere, use common sense. I would live on either island in a heartbeat if I could just find a way............. |
I've been to Grace Bay once and GC once (neither are favs). It's hard to choose. I would say for a honeymoon, Grace Bay is quieter....there is more to do and better restaurants on GC.
I've been a Fodors member since 2003 and in Blamona's defense, have never had issue with Blamona's postings. Very informative, great photos, and always fair. Remember, it's easy to mistake a person's meanings on these forums. People do have preferences. While the person is simply posting their opinion, it's on YOU how YOU react. Take the information as it is meant...as information. Peace, Greenie |
