Governor's Harbour beachside bars

Are there any beachside cafes, bars, restaurants in the Governor's Harbour area? Also, is there anywhere in that area where you can go on a sunset cruise or something similar? Any info would be appreciated.

There are NO beachside cafes in Governors Harbour. Just small simple restaurants( and only 3-4) The only thing to do there is rent a villa and stay put and relax on your beach.

When you get there, are you flying into Govenours Harbour? IF so talk to one of the taxi drivers about the water taxis in the area, you can probably arrange for an outing in a water taxi maybe to an out island cay for a day or even a few hours. If you were on Harbour Island you could arrange an outing for a tour around the island, through one of the locals there.

Govenours Harbour/Eleuthera, is not really a "tourist destination" just yet, it is mainly a quiet island with little to do, but relax and enjoy the beach. There are a few hotels on island a few restaurants and not much else.

If you are looking for a bit more to do, stay on Harbour Island which is just off the coast of Eleuthera, but has much more in the way of things to do, some shopping, a few EXCELLENT restaurants, 2 dive shops, off island trips.

Thanks for the input. We've nixed Governor's Harbour, and are going to stay on Harbour Island.

Harbour Island is a much better destination for restaurants, resorts and still have an amazing beach to stroll.

Where are you staying?

Let me know and I can give you lots of ideas of what to do, where to go and who to ask for advice.

Thanks, wantsomesun. We haven't decided yet between Pink Sands and a private villa - need 4 bedrooms (possibly 3), so Pink Sands could get a little expensive. Still looking at villas. We're not going until May or June of 2006. I'm just trying to do my homework ahead of time.

Tippy's in Governors Harbor is wonderful, great beachfront restaurant and bar.It is fast becoming the most well known place for the rich and famous to relax, there is also a restaurant on the Caribbean called Sunset, and yes, the sunsets there. There is also another new one just opening, maybe you can ask the name on eleu.net. Harbor Island is very nice also but the beaches not nearly as private as Eleuthera and the prices are much higher.

Hi Lazydays, Have you looked at Heron Hill and Capricorn House on Eleuthera? Google Search Heron Hill Bahamas and Capricorn House Bahamas and they come up.They are both terrific and you can always go to Harbor Island for a day trip. Tippy's restaurant is 5 minutes for each of the homes, much cheaper and more private that Pink Sands plus you get the beach all to yourself. There are also a number of restaurants in the area, great prices also.
