Good time of year to visit Turks & Caicos

Hi-
Can anyone recommend a good time of year to visit the Turks & Caicos Islands. Would mid December to mid January be nice? I would also appreciate hotel recommendations for a family of 4 (kids 15 & 19).
Thank you in advance for all responses.

Mid-December to mid-January is the peak of High Season in the T&C's so no matter where you stay expect to pay the highest room rates of the year. Also many resorts have minimum stay requirements in the weeks around Christmas and New Years so factor that into your plans. The islands are fairly far north so there's always a possibility that you could experience "cooler" temperatures at that time of year but average daytime temps are usually in the High 70"s to Low 80's F.

There are lots of "condo resorts" that are perfect for families: Check out Ocean Club, Ocean Club West, Grace Bay Club, The Sands, West Bay Club, Royal west indies and Somerset to name a few.

We have been visiting T&C for six years during the first week of January. The weather has been ideal: 80s during the days, down to about 60 by late afternoon, cool enough so that you sometimes need a light jacket for the evenings.

As RoamsAround mentions, the period between Christmas and New Year is probably the most expensive and booked of the entire year. If you can wait until after New Year's prices come down a bit, and crowds thin.

We used to stay at West Bay Club until we got priced out, but actually prefer The Venetian, on the other end of Grace Bay Beach. It's a very quiet condo-style resort with gorgeous rooms, (!!!) and an often uncrowded beachfront.

It's not cheap, and there's no restaurant on site, but the rooms, great staff, and quiet location make up for some of that.

You will need a car to get to most restaurants, the grocery store, and other beaches. Grace Bay Rentals has amazing service and will drop off and pick up cars from most resorts on Grace Bay Beach.

BTW, if you're thinking of this year, you need to get on it ASAP! T&C has become increasingly popular because it's easy to get to from many destinations on the east coast.

Lobo, at night? Days still showing 80s

Much of T&C is sold out if you mean this year.
