Good and Inexpensive "Eats" in San Juan Puerto Rico

I have heard of DragonFly and Pamelas but I am looking more to places where you can get good Puerto Rican Food that is inexpensive. Last time I was in PR, I went to Ajilli Mojilli and was not impressed. The meal was nice, and the server was excellent, but the food just didn't impress me - to the point where I ate at McDonalds, etc. I usually don't do this - I love eating local foods.

So, on this trip, instead of going to "high brow" restaurants, I would like to know about less expensive places with good food.
Thanks.

Metropol in Isla Verde (down and across the street from the Wyndham El San Juan) - good, inexpensive PR and Cuban food. I think there is also one in Condado.

Here's another vote for Metropol.

And another! Sure could use a Metropol fix soon!

Any other recommendations other than Metropol? Another board gave Metropol ok rating, but didn't rave. What do you think of the following places:

La Bombonera
Kasalta Bakery
