Golf trip with great hotel, golf, restaurants, and reasonable?

My husband and I are avid golfers so we would like to golf almost every day, sit on the beach in the afternoon and like to eat outside the hotel at local, good restaurants. It seems that this might cost us upwards of $15k (with flight from NY) for a week at Casa de Campo or Four Season Nevis. Is it worth it? Any other suggestions?

I have played on Nevis and it's a great course. There are a number of local restaurants that are very good and some that are great.

That said, I haven't played at Casa de Campo but I know there are a number of courses there. So, if you are looking for variety, I would recommend CdeC (As a diehard Nevis fanatic, that is difficult to write!). However, I can't comment on the restaurants.

Look at the St. Kitts Marriott - good rates for the resort and golf will run you about $100US less per per person per round than at the Four Season. Course is in much better condition. FYI - Green Fees at 4S are now $235 but the course is in poor condition - so much so that many locals and Ex-pats living on the island won't play it any more.

Thanks for the info., it would be so disappointing to go through the travel and cost to then play on a bad course. Also looking at Cuisinart Anquillas and Sea Island, Georgia.

We stayed at the Cloisters on Sea Island - had a terrific time. For what it is worth, if you go to the Caribbean for golf you'll pretty be playing the same course every day unless you are visiting one of the larger islands like Puerto Rico that have multiple courses.

At the Cloisters there are multiple courses you can play.

One other suggestion - consider going to Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head Island - there are dozens 7 dozens of golf courses in both areas where you can play.

What do you consider "reasonable"? To help you better an actual budget would be great.

For example, Anguilla golf course is magnificent, it is "reasonably" priced at over $400 a round! I say reasonable because it's worth it, but might not be to you. Anguilla is far more expensive overall than DR yet you get what you pay for.

Same with the excellent course in Sandals Exumas.

Casa Del Campo is one of the best course in Caribbean, might even rank in the world. So the price you pay is on par for one of the best.

Again, with a budget we can help you better
