Going to TCI a 3rd time....but
 

...I hope the latest fearmongering is just...that. Although I am very confident in blamona's and others' whose screen names I can't recall right now, reassurances, I just wanted to make sure that going to the Sands for a 3rd time is still as great and wonderful experience as it has been for us. We are also renting a minivan to trek around with our 3 children (and possibly babysitter) so, we do not want to be discouraged from this fun activity. If it is not much trouble to you who are experts on this island please share your reassurances.

We just visited in January,(fifth visit to TCI) and had no problems. We drove all over the island ( Chalk Sound, Taylor Bay) during the day and also to restaurants for lunch/dinner. Have fun!

My husband is about to go, so you're in good company.

PS they caught the thieves, still one of the safest islands out there

You'll have fun, but just your head--don't leave stuff on the beach unattended, don't leave stuff on the car, use the safe, ........

Thanks for the input. I had no serious doubts, but confirming with the experts is always extra reassurance for us as we have little children. We have enjoyed the TCI immensely both previous times we visited. We are almost doing a disservice to other carib. islands by sticking with the TCI, but we loved it so much that we decided we'd save the venturing for later when the kids are older...

blamona, my wife and I read some of your responses to the thread that started a 'scare' with the TCI, and I have to admit, we are still laughing! :) you were funny indeed...stern, but funny :).
