Gibney Beach Cottages-St. John

These are new cottages in St. John? Anyone have any info or stayed there?

Wendy--I just posted a note about St. John. We stayed at a villa right at the top of the driveway to the new Gibney villas. We walked down to Oppenheimer beach and viewed the new villas from there. They are stunning. Of course, we didn't get inside, but word on the island is very positive about both of them. We can't afford to stay there, but if you can, GO FOR IT. The view from there is spectacular!

We were there last April when they were almost finished. Some workers let us in and we went inside both of them. They are on the beach, housed in one unit(back to back), with one facing the water and one facing away. I believe they each had just one bedroom and a kitchen. Contemporary but spartan. But if you LOVE Oppenheimers Beach as we do, it is paradise. Sorry, we were unable to get any more info. If you find out anything else please post it. Good Luck.

I just read about these on Caribbean Travel and Life online. There is a short paragraph describing them as two cottages on the beach. One king 1 BR cottage and the other is a 2 BR. Rates shown as $3000/wk low season $5000/wk high.

They are being handled by several people on island. I believe that the on line edition of the Tradewinds does have an article about them.
