GC time zone?
One of my guidebooks says that GC is in the Eastern time zone. Another one says that it is in the Atlantic time zone! I always thought that it was Eastern. Can someone confirm?

Thanks.

I'm from Indiana and we never change our time - I can tell you that in summer we are an hour behind NYC and we are on "Cayman time" which also never changes their clocks. Hope that helps.

Grand Cayman is in the Eastern time zone and they do not got on Daylight Savings Time.
|
That is correct. Since 2am on April 1st, daylight savings time has been in effect in the eastern time zone of the US, so it is an hour ahead of GC. But when we "fall back" at 2am on October 28, 2001, daylight saving time ends for the year, and the time in GC and the eastern time zone will match.

Thanks for the info. Too bad some guidebooks aren't really careful about something as seemingly simple as a time zone.

Now wait a second.
I was just in Cayman and I dont know about Daylight savings time and all that but we had to push our watches ahead one hour when we arrived and back one hour when we left.
I too didnt think there was a time difference but I lookeslook at when our flight leaves and when it arrives on the way there and then on the way home the time each flight takes is different byu 1 hour. But I guess that would depend on where you live. I was flying into NJ.
HMMMMMM?

Jackie,
Coming from Ohio, which has daylight savings time, if I arrive on GC at 1pm, it's noon their time. Without daylight savings time, we're exactly insync with Grand Cayman!!

Everyone who answered this question is right except juli.

The reason I was incorrect is that I am from the east coast so we where an hour behind until we push our clocks back for daylight savings time.
NOW I am on the same page as everyone else and when I go to GC in Feb. I wont have to move my watch.
So I wasnt wrong......just confused.
